Indigenous Engineering in Hydrocarbon Sector

Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) strives to enhance domestic oil and gas resources to reduce the dependency on oil imports. It has established the hydrocarbons division with its vision to cater to the country’s energy needs and secure energy surplus in the near future with the help of advanced technology.

The company acquired Drillmec and Petreven, top drilling technology experts. These companies are internationally renowned in the oil and gas exploration sector for manufacturing drilling rigs, developing drilling technology, and servicing oil wells and rigs globally.

It executes the projects efficiently, whether it’s onshore or offshore-- upstream, middle stream and downstream. In India, it is a partner in making the country self-sufficient in the sector.

The company has showcased its strength in the sector without impacting the environment and is executing highly complex projects with quality and precision from concept to commission. It effectively carries out hydrocarbons exploration and processing activities while erecting civil, mechanical, and electrical works related to refinery and other hydrocarbon projects.

Hydrocarbon projects across India

The division is known for its ability to turn impossible into possible. It carries design, engineering procurement, construction management, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of projects.

The company has executed multiple projects with quality and efficiency, such as the Assam Renewable Project (Assam), Raageshwari Gas Processing Unit (Rajasthan), the Gas based power plant in Jordan, oil storage tanks (Kuwait), fire safety system and pipeline project, Mehsana (Gujarat), Oil and Gas exploration at Cambay fields (Gujarat) and Laxmigen Fields (Assam), Mehsana-Bhatinda pipeline project, GPLP pipeline project (Tripura) and CGD projects in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.

It is executing projects like the Phosphorus Recovery Unit (PRU) in Bihar, Sulphur recovery unit (SRU) in Rajasthan, HRRL-Polypropylene Unit (Rajasthan), Indmax RFCC Unit (Gujarat), Rajasthan Refinery Project, IOCL - off sites & utilities at Paradip for paraxylene and purified terephthalic acid units (Odisha), for the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation, fire fighting system at Mehsana etc.

Mark in North-East India

It strengthened the oil and gas network in the North-East region of India with the six pipeline replacement projects for ONGC, and five pipeline-laying projects in Assam in a record time.

Work for ONGC

It is supplying 47 advanced oil rigs to ONGC across India. The other hydrocarbon projects are the Assam Renewal Project, Six Pipeline replacement project, and effluent treatment plants at Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, Kakinada-Visakhapatnam-Srikakulam gas pipeline project for ONGC-Cauvery Asset and LPG storage cavern project at Mangalore.

It also constructed gas compressor plants, gas-based power plants, and group gathering stations for fuel supply and storage vessels for natural gas and oil products. As a result, the company achieved a record in executing projects globally.

Megha Gas

The MEIL’s subsidiary Megha Gas supplies  Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for India’s domestic, commercial, industry, and automobile sectors.

City Gas Distribution

Megha Gas has been awarded 61 Geographical Areas (GAs) across 10 states. The company provides connections to households with CNG through reticulated gas pipelines.

It supplies PNG for domestic, commercial and industry needs. Megha Gas bagged 61 geographical areas (GAs), the highest number of CGD projects in the 11th round of bidding conducted by the Petroleum Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB). Already we are pioneering in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. A remarkable achievement.

Global Footprint

The company also has its footprint in Kuwait, Jordan, Bangladesh, Singapore and other countries. It has received recognition for executing the 54-MW gas-based power plant for the Arab Potash Company in Jordan, 66 high-quality and insulated storage tanks for KIPIC in Kuwait, the De-salter project for MODEC in Singapore, and the Jamuna fertilisers project in Bangladesh.

It acquired oil rig manufacturing giant Drillmec S.P.A and oil rig service provider Petreven S.P.A which works on hydraulic drilling technology.

Drillmec

Drillmec, a subsidiary company of the MEIL manufactures rigs, heavy machinery, and equipment to extract oil from sea beds and surfaces. It primarily manufactures stationary land rigs, hydraulic super single rigs, and super-spec shale rigs. These rigs are suitable from the African deserts to the rugged American mountain ranges. It has rig manufacturing units in India, Italy, USA, and Belarus and has manufactured and supplied more than 500 drilling rigs across the globe for on-shore and off-shore activities.

Petreven

Petreven, another subsidiary of the MEIL family, looks into the maintenance and servicing of rigs to improve the productivity of oil wells and the operation of rigs.

The company acquired these Italian companies to reduce the dependency on oil imports and make India self-sufficient in the oil and gas sector.

The MEIL’s hydrocarbon division has 15 years of experience operating in the domestic hydrocarbons sector and has produced ISO standard pressure vessels used in hydrocarbon projects. In addition, it has modernised components of refineries.
